Energy & Efficiency Review
A joined-up review of how a home or business premises uses energy — including solar, battery storage, tariff behaviour, EV charging and, where relevant, heating-system calculations and setup.
Core launch servicePlain-English help for homes and businesses using solar, battery storage, EV charging, smart tariffs and modern heating systems. We help you understand what your property is doing, check the numbers, spot wasted opportunities and make the different systems work together.
Homes and commercial premises can now have solar, battery storage, EV charging, smart tariffs, heat pumps and other energy systems all interacting. That is especially true in new-builds, where owners are often handed complex systems with very little explanation. We help you understand the numbers and settings, identify what is not working efficiently and give you practical next steps — whether the equipment is already installed or you are still deciding what to buy.

Core launch serviceMoved into a new-build and been left with solar, a battery, heat pump, EV charger or smart controls you barely understand? We help you identify what has been installed, explain how it should work together and show you the key settings, schedules and apps you actually need to know.
New-build supportThinking about solar or battery storage but not sure what you actually need? Before you request or accept installer quotes, we can help you understand sensible system sizes, battery capacity, inverter choices, tariffs, export options and the questions worth asking — so you can compare proposals from an informed position.
Independent pre‑purchase adviceCharging windows, reserve levels, self-consumption, export behaviour and seasonal settings — with the aim of making your existing system work more intelligently around your tariff and household.
Launch serviceStruggling to get the vehicle, charger, manufacturer app or smart tariff behaving properly? We help work through the setup, schedules and common conflicts — including domestic and workplace charging setups with battery storage.
£50 remote support session Standalone serviceFor suitable setups, we can help plan dashboards, alerts and automations that make complex energy systems easier to understand and manage across homes and small commercial premises.
Advanced advisoryMost equipment is configured to be safe and broadly sensible out of the box — not necessarily optimised for your tariff, generation, vehicles, operating hours or the way your property is actually used.
No generic “set everything to eco” nonsense. We start with the property, equipment, tariff, operating pattern and priorities.
You show us the property, setup, tariff, equipment and recent energy behaviour.
We show you what your system is currently doing and where the opportunities are.
We build a practical settings and usage plan around cost, comfort and battery behaviour.
As F&R develops, qualified electrical, fire-system and air-conditioning services can sit alongside the energy side under one roof.
F&R is being built by Jack and Harry around one simple idea: make modern energy and electrical technology easier to understand, easier to control and, as the business grows, easier to install properly across both domestic and commercial properties.
Building F&R from the smart-energy and home-efficiency side while undertaking formal electrical training. Focus areas include batteries, solar, EV charging, tariffs, property energy behaviour and practical system optimisation.
Building F&R alongside Jack as an equal partner, with the same long-term goal of developing the business from energy and efficiency support into a wider qualified electrical, fire, cooling and property-technology service, with smart commercial buildings as the final stage of the plan.
F&R currently focuses on advisory, setup-support and home-energy optimisation services. Electrical installation, fire-system installation and air-conditioning installation are future services and will only be offered when the relevant training, qualifications, certification, insurance and competence requirements are in place.
The long-term plan is bigger than advice. As Jack and Harry complete the relevant training and qualifications, F&R will expand into hands-on installation services for domestic and commercial customers while keeping the same joined-up approach. The final stage is to take that experience into smarter commercial buildings and business automation.
Planned domestic and commercial electrical installation, upgrades, testing and energy-related electrical work once the appropriate qualifications, registrations, insurance and competence are in place.
Future qualified serviceA planned future service covering suitable domestic and commercial fire detection and alarm system installation once the relevant course work, competence and certification requirements have been completed.
Future qualified servicePlanned domestic and commercial air-conditioning installation and associated services after the relevant training and certification have been completed.
Future qualified serviceThe final stage of the F&R plan: helping commercial customers make buildings and workplaces smarter through joined-up energy monitoring, automated controls, intelligent scheduling, dashboards and alerts.
Final-stage ventureF&R is not trying to become everything overnight. The plan is to build capability in a sensible order, with each stage supporting the next.
Energy reviews, solar & battery pre-purchase consultations, new-build handover support, solar and battery optimisation, EV charging support, wet-UFH review and smart-energy advice.
Domestic and commercial electrical installation, testing, upgrades and energy-related electrical work.
Add qualified fire-system and air-conditioning services so F&R can look after more of the building as one system.
Help commercial customers connect energy, controls and building systems using automation, monitoring, dashboards and intelligent scheduling to make premises simpler and more efficient to run.
A remote support session focused on getting your EV, charger app and smart-tariff setup behaving sensibly. We can work through schedules, smart-charge settings and common conflicts with home batteries. It does not include on-site electrical fault-finding, repair or installation work.
Yes. The pre-purchase consultation is designed to help you understand what may suit your property before an installer starts selling you a package. We can look at your usage, objectives, tariff, likely solar generation, battery requirements and the features worth comparing, then give you a clearer list of questions to take into installer quotations. It is independent advisory support rather than an installation design, structural survey or regulated electrical specification.
Yes. A new-build handover review can help you identify the equipment installed, understand the solar, battery, heat pump, EV charger and controls, and learn how the different systems should work together. It is designed to fill the gap between “here are your manuals” and actually knowing how to run the house properly.
Where the information is available, the Home Energy & Efficiency Check can review the basic design logic and calculations behind a wet UFH setup — such as room demand, heated floor area, loop coverage, flow-temperature assumptions and whether the numbers appear sensible as part of the wider home-efficiency picture.
No. The business is being built for both domestic and commercial customers. Some launch advisory services will suit homes best, while others — such as EV charging, energy optimisation and future electrical, fire and air-conditioning work — can apply equally to commercial premises.
No. Savings depend on usage, tariff, equipment, weather, export rates and household behaviour, so we would rather show you the logic than make up a magic percentage.
Not yet. Those are planned future F&R services linked to Jack and Harry's training pathway. They will only be offered once the relevant qualifications, certification, insurance and competence requirements are in place.
This is a later-stage commercial service, not the initial launch offer. The idea is to combine F&R's experience in energy, electrical systems and building services with automation — for example monitoring, dashboards, alerts, intelligent schedules and joined-up controls that make commercial premises easier and more efficient to operate.
Tell us what you have — or what you're thinking of buying. New-build, home, office or workshop; solar, battery, EV charging, tariff or heating setup. Whether you're comparing quotes or fixing an existing system, we can start there.
